Actor and Bigg Boss 17 participant Ayesha Khan has spoken candidly about the harassment she faces on social media and the trauma she has experienced in the past. The actress, who recently gained attention for her appearance in the song “Shararat” from the upcoming film Dhurandhar: The Revenge, shared her experiences during a conversation with journalist Barkha Dutt on the platform Mojo Story.
“I Am Sexualised Almost Every Day”
During the interview, Ayesha spoke about the constant scrutiny and objectification she faces online. According to her, even simple choices about clothing can trigger criticism and inappropriate comments.
She explained that social media users frequently sexualise her posts regardless of what she wears. The actress said that this constant judgment often makes her think twice before sharing anything online.
Ayesha described the experience as emotionally exhausting, saying it is difficult to live in a space where even normal expressions of style or personality can become a target for harassment.

Fear Created by Online Abuse
The actress also highlighted how disturbing online comments can be. She explained that what worries her most is the realisation that these messages come from real people.
According to Ayesha, the fact that some individuals openly send threatening messages online makes the situation frightening. She believes the anonymity of social media often encourages people to say things they might not otherwise say in real life.
When asked directly about threats, the actress revealed that she regularly receives rape threats through social media messages.
She said such threats have become so frequent that she could easily open her phone and show multiple examples at any given moment.
Speaking About a Painful Personal Experience
During the conversation, Ayesha also revealed a deeply traumatic incident from her past. She shared that she had once faced an attempted rape, an experience she had briefly spoken about in earlier interviews as well.
The actress became emotional while discussing the topic, explaining that certain moments or comments can trigger memories she tries not to revisit.
She described the trauma as a wound that occasionally resurfaces despite her efforts to move forward.

Harassment on a Film Set
Ayesha also spoke about an incident of harassment she experienced while working on a film set. According to her, she had been receiving persistent messages on Instagram from an unknown person.
After noticing repeated direct messages and voice notes, she eventually realised that the sender was a spot boy working on the set where she was filming.
The actress said she immediately informed her father, who was present that day, and also reported the matter to the production team.
Following her complaint, action was taken against the individual involved.

A Conversation About Safety in the Industry
Ayesha Khan’s revelations highlight a broader issue that many women in the entertainment industry continue to face: online harassment and safety concerns both on and off set.
While public figures often receive attention and admiration, they can also become targets for abusive behaviour on digital platforms.
By speaking openly about her experiences, the actress hopes to draw attention to the emotional and psychological impact such harassment can have.
Her comments have sparked discussions online about social media accountability, digital safety, and the need for stronger action against abusive behaviour directed at public figures and women in general.
