Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Bikaner, Rajasthan: Acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has found himself embroiled in legal trouble after an FIR was registered against him and two of his associates in Bikaner. The complaint, filed by local resident Prateek Raj Mathur, accuses Bhansali of fraud, misbehaviour, and breach of trust during the production of his upcoming film Love & War.

According to Circle Officer Vishal Jangid, Mathur alleged that he was initially appointed as a line producer for the film but was later removed from the project without payment. The FIR, which was lodged at the Bichhwal police station on Monday following a court order, names Bhansali along with team members Arvind Gill and Utkarsh Bali. The charges include fraud, criminal conspiracy, and criminal intimidation.

In his statement, Mathur claimed that he had undertaken several responsibilities, including making arrangements for the shoot and liaising with government departments. However, when he approached the film unit at a hotel in Bikaner, he was allegedly misbehaved with and denied his dues.

Bichhwal SHO Govind Singh Charan has been assigned to investigate the matter.

Meanwhile, Bhansali’s much-anticipated project Love & War—described as an “epic saga”—features Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles. The film is currently under production and is scheduled to hit theatres in 2026.
