After the strong response to its first season, Netflix’s popular courtroom comedy Maamla Legal Hai is officially returning with Season 2. The makers have now confirmed the release date, bringing back the chaotic world of the Patparganj District Court with its mix of absurd legal cases and sharp satire.
Known for its quirky storytelling and humorous take on the Indian legal system, the show quickly became a fan favourite when the first season premiered. Now, the second season promises more unusual cases, new characters and fresh twists in the courtroom.
Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 Release Date
Netflix has confirmed that Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 will start streaming on April 3.
The new season will once again revolve around the unpredictable legal world of Patparganj District Court. However, this time the story introduces a major twist involving the show’s central character V.D. Tyagi, played by Ravi Kishan.
In Season 2, Tyagi is set to explore a new role in the courtroom as he attempts to prove himself from the judge’s chair rather than the lawyer’s bench.
Speaking about returning to the show, Ravi Kishan said in a Netflix statement:
“I can’t believe I am saying this, but I am looking forward to going to court! This season, Tyagi is eager to prove himself as a judge, but it’s a task easier said than done. Yahaan har maamla serious hota hai, par tareeka bilkul hatke.”
The actor hinted that while the cases remain serious, the approach to solving them will continue to be unconventional.
New Cast Members Join the Patparganj Squad
While the core cast returns for the new season, the makers have also introduced new additions to the ensemble.
Social media personality and actress Kusha Kapila joins the series along with popular Bhojpuri actor Dinesh Lal Yadav (Nirahua). Their characters are expected to bring fresh dynamics and chaos to the already unpredictable courtroom.
The returning cast includes:
• Nidhi Bisht as Sujata Didi
• Naila Grewal as Ananya Shroff
• Anant Joshi as the witty Donna of Patparganj
• Vishwas Pandey
• Anjum Batra as Lakhmir Mintu
These characters formed the heart of the show’s first season, and their interactions were widely appreciated by audiences.
The makers also shared the update on Instagram with the caption:
“Ab pata chala Delhi ke langooron ka raaz. Patparganj ki atrangi toli jo laut rahi hai. Watch Maamla Legal Hai Season 2, out 3 April only on Netflix.”

What to Expect From Season 2
Just like the first season, Maamla Legal Hai Season 2 will continue drawing inspiration from strange and bizarre real-life legal cases across India.
Reports suggest that the upcoming season will feature unusual courtroom stories such as:
• Cases involving rats eating seized marijuana
• Parrots being accused of obscene language
• Strange disputes that challenge the logic of the legal system
These cases will unfold alongside the personal journeys of the lawyers and court staff working at Patparganj District Court.
The new season will also address several questions fans had after the first season.
Viewers will find out whether Sujata Didi finally gets her long-awaited air-conditioned chamber and whether Ananya Shroff’s idealistic fight for justice can survive the harsh realities of district court politics.
Most importantly, the story will explore whether Tyagi truly finds the thrill of justice while sitting on the judge’s bench.
