Music duo Sachet-Parampara have firmly dismissed all plagiarism allegations surrounding their popular track ‘Raanjhan’, featured in Kriti Sanon’s 2024 film Do Patti.
In an official statement, the composers described the claims as “completely baseless” and an attempt to create controversy for attention. “The person alleging they composed the music for Raanjhan is making false accusations clearly intended to stir publicity,” they said.
The duo also revealed that they have issued a defamation notice and are prepared to take strict legal action. “We’ve already provided the original session files and piano scores to YouTube, Spotify, and other streaming platforms. All of them verified our authorship and dismissed any competing copyright claims,” their statement added.
A press release further clarified that the copyright complaint, made by foreign musician KMKZ, had been reviewed and rejected by major music services. The release noted that platforms had received all project files of Raanjhan, sung by Parampara Tandon, well before its release. After evaluating the material, the services confirmed that Sachet-Parampara are the rightful creators of the track.
With the matter addressed, the duo emphasized their focus remains on creating original, genre-defining music and allowing their work to speak for itself.
Released in October 2024, Do Patti was directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi and starred Kriti Sanon and Kajol in the lead roles.
