The romantic entertainer will now move away from the box office clash, leaving Yash’s high-cost action drama Toxic for a solo release on June 4, 2026.
The major clash between Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups and Varun Dhawan’s romantic flick Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai has been averted now. Those behind the upcoming film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai have decided to push back its release date.
Toxic, starring Yash, had its release date shifted from March 19 to June 4. As luck would have it, Varun Dhawan and his team had also planned to release their next film during the same period.
The filmmakers had previously cited “tensions in the Middle East” as one reason for the delay, saying that they had affected their plans to promote and release the film.
In the absence of a ban, Toxic was not released in theatres instead because it was going to clash with Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai — originally scheduled for a release on June 5, 2026.
However, the team of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai has now decided to announce a new release date, so that they don’t clash with the big-budget Yash film.
While the new release date has not been officially set, the decision means both films will have their own window at the box office.
So now, when Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups hits theatres, it will have a solo release.
The film is one of the most anticipated films of Yash after KGF franchise became a huge blockbuster. Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic has already created a buzz for its stylish tone and international setting.
While, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai stars Varun Dhawan with Mrunal Thakur, Pooja Hegde and Mouni Roy in its lead cast.
By avoiding a head-to-head confrontation, each film now has an opportunity to do well.
For moviegoers, the change just means they will get to enjoy both pictures without having to choose between two blockbusters on the same weekend.
